Ce qu'ils en pensent | What they think

Why not stay in a real chateau?

There is nothing to beat staying in a real chateau. For a couple of days you feel like a prince, or a duke, or a marquis. The ambiance is just great and the views from the chateau are breath-taking. The rooms are large and have all modern facilities. The area is beautiful, with excellent views, it does not matter in which direction you go. Cluny and the château de Drée are very near and are well worth a

visit. Allow yourself to be spoilt in this authentic part of France.

A little sneak of what paradise could be like!

Our second stay at this stunning chateau - we simply had to come back and arranged our camping trip to France this year to be able to do just that! We stayed again for one night on our way home from our holiday further south in France and - was it as good as we remembered? No, it was even better!

A chateau with such style and ambience created by its wonderful host Marty and his team.

On arrival, we were immediately made to feel welcome and were able to relax in the grounds with a glass of wine to take in the stunning views from all around. The addition of a swimming pool available to guests this year is just more than fantastic and we enjoyed a swim before going off for an evening meal locally, (booked for us by Marty). We stayed in the suite Choiseul which was perfect for us - two adults and our 14 year old daughter. The room has a very large en suite bathroom and separate sleeping areas (one double bed in one area and twin beds in the other area - (so able to sleep 4 very comfortably).

We took breakfast in the large dining room around the table and had everything we could have possibly wanted.

Sadly we had to leave - but not before we were able to look at the latest Chateau de Vaulx development - the Gîte Damas, again superb elegance and such space! Definitely now looking for a time we can come back for a stay here too.

We wished we were staying longer

We wished we were staying longer, with so much to see and do in the area another day or two enjoying staying at the Chateau de Vaulx would have been a great end to our French holiday. The chateau is beautiful, comfortable and well furnished. We could have looked at the view all day. Marty is a most welcoming host, and also a good cook.

We watched some of the preparations for our delicious dinner of fish with aubergines and tomato, risotto, cheese and poached spiced pears, all really great. The grounds are beautiful with avenues of trees, lots of flowers, a vegetable garden and alo a lap pool. We hope to go back, and greatly recommend it.
