Vaulx was linked to the Choiseul family until the fifteenth century. According to Father Claude Courtépée, Chizeuil would be a distortion of Choiseul.

  • On the east side, view onto the esplanade, the Brionnais area and the park; on the west side, view onto the flower garden and the park.

Chateau with a view!

We stayed at the Chateau de Vaulx in July for two nights on our way to the alps, this lovely rustic chateau is set on top of the beautiful hills of the charollais region, attractions you can visit are Cluny cathedral, vineyards in Macon, and the burgundy region. We stayed in the suite Geoffray, which has in my opinion the best view of the hills and villages around. Marty is a superb cook and a

great host, drinks were offered to us on our arrival as a welcome. The breakfast served to us was excellent. This place is perfect to relax and read a book after the hustle and bustle of Paris... Would recommend to anyone!!! Only comment would be fun to have a pool available.

Heaven on Earth

This Chateau is one of the most beautiful places in the south of Burgundy. Beautiful rooms, excellent meals, the most charming host Marty - and all that in a wonderful landscape - makes the Chateau de Vaulx a place not only to stay but to come back (as we do for years now)! My princess loved it

 My princess loved our short stay. Marty is a very gracious host. We were lucky to have our room upgraded so we could enjoy the fantastic view. Fear not, the magnificent views are also enjoyable from the terrace where we had breakfast, even though the cosy dining room was very tempting. Highly recommended.
